| We are in the middle of a Downpour of Blessings! I'm not kidding, it seems like every time we turn around, there is something good happening to us! And we're soakin' it up!!! One of the latest things was a truck for Wes. (yeah!) We've been sharing my car since February and it was not fun!! Then Wes started working for Richard and Matt, and I was going to have to drive him to work in the morning (leave at 5:15), and pick him up in the evening! Yuck! But, as it turned out, I hardly had to do any taxiing before we had our truck! (you know, we've been praying for a simple, 4-wheel drive in this price range for so long, and thought it wasn't possible) God didn't send it when we could get by with one vehicle. He sent it immediately when we actually needed it! And I love that truck...it's a regular cab w/ a BENCH SEAT!!! Yeah! Can't wait to go on a date again!!!
Chandler and Morgan have seen first hand answered prayers, and adding that to a child's faith makes them very strong believers. Some cute prayers from them lately: Morgan (always talking anyway) just realized the fun of praying, because she's found someone who always listens to her chatter!!! She'll be walking around the house, (squinty-eyed, because she thinks her eyes should be closed, but still has to see where she's walking), saying, "Dear God, thank you for... we went to Miss Fran's house today, and for... my chair over there (pointing), and for... we can get Bella at school, " and on and on and on. I need to catch it on video before she stops doing it!
Chandler (still believing that God is sending him a cow in a fence) told me the other day that he also needs a goat and a pig... Me - "You think God should give you that AND a cow in a fence?" Chandler - Racing for the window, "He did send the cow?!!!!" Me (feeling bad), "No buddy, not yet." Chandler - "Oh. Not yet." Like it's no big deal. He totally believes one is coming. One evening a week or so ago, I finally put a new zipper in Wes' work coat. He's been after me for a year to get it done, and I kept putting if off. When I got it in, I sighed, and said, "Ahhh...Thank God that's done!" Chandler looks reverently at the ceiling, and says, "Thank you, God, for helping my Mom." (I was thanking Him too, when the next morning it was cold, and Wes grabbed his coat before he left for work!! Boy, would've I had some explaining to do if the zipper was still not in!)

| Oh boy! I don't remember the last time I updated, and I don't want to look, so I will pretend that you are all up to date on our lives! Last year at Morgan's b-day I didn't have time to do a 'Morgie' update, so I will do one today (fitting, since today is her 2nd birthday!) Morgan is the spice of our lives! (as well as anyone else that she encounters) The Lord knew what he was doing when he placed our two children together as siblings! They are soooo different, and annoy each other to no end, and I usually don't interfere, just sitting there laughing till I cry... I call it good training in people skills!!! Anyway, back to Morgs,... WHAT MORGAN LOVES: *talking (first and formost! ALL DAY LONG!!!) *a good belly laugh w/Chandler (you know how kids MAKE themselves laugh, until they are just falling over?) *first-thing-in-the-morning chats with Mommy (LOOOOONG) *catering to Daddy (when he settles down to watch a hunting movie, she rushes to get him pillows or a blanket) *fighting with Katie Miller (seriously! These two are alike in that they you don't run over them...so there's usually lightning and thunder when they start trying to boss each other...and they enjoy it!!!) *coloring!!! (the only time she's quiet is when she's coloring) *SINGING! Three favorites are Jesus Loves Me, ABCs, and Farmer in the Dell (?!) *PEOPLE!!! All her family members, and friends....she LOVES to party!
I should definitely put pics of the b-day girl on here, but our compy is not working (hasn't for most of the summer).
MY PRAYER FOR MY DAUGHTER Lord, thank you for the huge blessing of a daughter! I love her immensely! As a preschooler she already has so much to teach me about happiness, forgiveness, basically LIVING life to the fullest! May I never stunt her love for living! Morgan is so different from me in so many ways...I pray that we can build on those differences and that they won't become roadblocks in our relationship. She loves you, Lord, and I pray that the seed that is already planted in her will continue to be watered and fed. When she faces mountain tops and valleys, pursue her for a deep relationship with you. Then she can face any situation in life, with peace and joy that will continue to give her the happy free spirit she has now! .

| maybe I shouldn't have said the story of running to PA for the boys...since many of you know this family, you may be thinking, 'lady, get your own kids.' Please bear in mind that she WOULD HAVE and WANTED to, but COULDN'T. I can't imagine trying to share the raising of 5 kids with a husband in another state, and on top of that, running my own business. There would have to be 3 of Jen to reach around. I love her ALOT, and I've watched alot of effort from her in the past 3 months at trying to improve areas in her life.
I hope that people can also see me trying to improve bad areas in my own life. (like the one of saying too much...I never know when trying to go back and correct what I said is ok, or if I simply end up doing more harm than good) Lord, forgive me for my wagging tongue!
| This mama needs to get out of vacation mode! I’ve been so lazy in the mornings, but on no morning have I regretted it more than I did last Friday…
…I’ve spent the morning puttering around in my bathrobe (yes, the new fuzzy one!). The house has the usual toys scattered everywhere, hasn’t been cleaned yet for the week, last night’s supper dishes are still by the sink, and there’s a load of laundry waiting to be folded. I’m not planning to leave the house until 1:30 when I will go do a small cleaning job (just main living area, no bedrooms or baths), and then go get the girls from school at 3:30. At this point it still feels fun to be wasting my morning.
11:15 - Jen calls to say that something came up at work, and she can’t leave the office till closing. Could I run to PA and get the boys for her? I’d have to be there by 4. And I have to take the girls. And did I know that Sophia gets out at 2 o’clock? (Ok? Yikes!!!) 11:20 - I call Wes to see if he’ll be home early, so I can leave our kids here…he won’t be, and then tells me that Mike and Michelle are coming over for dinner at 5:30. (WHAT!?!) ok, I can relax, they are BRINGING dinner! (ok, will be lots of fun, but I’m going to be late…will be as fast as I can) 11:25 - My wonderful mother-in-law always bails me out of tight spots…I know she’d take my kids the rest of the day. I call, but she’s not home. 11:30 - I’m rushing around the house, venting to Tori on the phone (she just laughs at me), and wishing I had made use of my morning. I take out the trash, and when I go to replace the bag, I reach into an empty box. Shoot! Which reminds me, we don’t have paper towels or napkins. Oh well, no time to go to the store. 12:30 - The house looks decent, and I’m rushing out the door with the kids and a diaper bag full of lunch, snacks, and books for the road. Then I remember that the car is almost totally out of gas. I’m glad the cleaning job is just down the road. 2:05 - I’m putting the cleaning supplies and away, and packing the kids back into the car. (they’ve spent a happy hour playing with the little cat who lives here) 2:15 - Finally picking Sophia up at school, and I’m lucky enough to pull up right next to Michelle…could you bring napkins over tonight? She says yes, and I rush off to the gas station. 2:35 - We’re picking Isabella up at the Little School. 2:45 - I stop by Jen’s office and get everyone moved over to the Surburban. Jen hands me the keys, $ for gas, and $ for a stop at WaWa (wish I had time to stop!) 2:55 - We’re pulling onto Rt 1. Sophia is reading to Morgan, and Chandler and Issa are laughing at each other in the back seat. I smile, settle back, and put that Surburban in the wind! 3:35 - I’m turning off 95 onto 202, and know that the PA line is just a few more miles, so I call Zach, and tell him and Max to be ready by 4. 4:05 - After 10 minutes of shuffling and waiting, and running back in for something else, we’re finally all buckled back in, and backing out of the driveway. 4:15 - Morgan always reminded me of the type who would get carsick, and she proves me right! I whip over into the center turn lane, and rush back to help her out. As I’m throwing her nasty clothes in the back, and grabbing more wipes from the front, I contemplate that I’m surrounded by 6 lanes of rushing traffic within touching distance…thank you Lord, for safety. 4:20 - We’re headed home again…Morgan’s wrapped in her coat, sleeping soundly, and we have the windows cracked to stave off that terrible aroma. Chandler and Issa soon join Morgie in sleeping, and all is well the rest of the way home. Although we run into a lot more traffic than we did going up, we’re still about 30 minutes ahead of the bad traffic, and for a Friday night, we think it’s pretty great. 5:35 - I pull into the office again, transfer my kids back to my car, and rush home to a waiting Mike, Michelle, Wes, and dinner. 6:10 - Morgan’s had a bath, and is starting to feel better. The rest of us are eating and watching a movie…the evening is lots of fun, and Michelle brings some very cute outfits for th e kids.
Late that night, I’m finally headed for bed, and I can only think of one thing… “Thank You Lord, that none of us have the stomach flu! I DON’T feel like getting up with puking children tonight!”
| a late Merry Christmas to everyone! we've been having all the fun of presents and family, and way too much food, and pathetically late nights Chandler and Morgan are old enough to understand Christmas, (in their own way). Chandler was convinced all the gifts under the tree were for baby Jesus. I had fun reading the Christmas story (a thousand times) to the kids out of a book that Mom read to us (probably a thousand times) every December. It brought back alot of good memories of Christmas seasons at home. Some of you might remember a time like this when your kids were small...our kids had no thought of opening presents on Christmas morning. After we read the Christmas story, we tried to explain to them that now they can open presents. They just thought it was story time, and went running for more books! My practical husband absolutely blew me away with his gift for me....I'm still smiling! Keep in mind that he doesn't believe in buying 'unnecessary gifts' when there I things I could truly use, like clothes. Well, there was nothing practical about this... A Gift Certificate to Nail Pros - deluxe (pedicure, manicure, and foot massage)!!!!!!!! ...plus comfy pjs, and CUTE and TRENDY bathrobe and slippers, and other unmentionables! Wow, wow, wow!!!! (the bathrobe is a fuzzy white with pink polka dots...when I modeled it, Chandler said, "Mommy, you are a Rabbit!")
what can I say....thank you, thank you, thank you, babe, for such a sweet, thoughtful, and loving way to waste your money! I feel so pampered!
Of course we missed Mom, Dad, and Ness (loved seeing you guys on the webcam at Matt and Tori's Christmas Day) and Lyn and Tonya (wish we had some of your snow!) I just saw a documentary on some people suffering in a poor nation, (a secular documentary) and one of the women was at the beach for the first time, and said she was so amazed to think that Allah had created this. (this was real, not scripted) It was soo heart-breaking to think that in her sad, cruel world on earth, she was also mislead on what lay beyond human life. How glad I am that Mom and Dad can reach out to these poor, lost people who've never known another way. Just like we had to help Chandler and Morgan see the gifts we had for them, and get them started opening them, maybe we can all try to help the lost people around us to see the gift that God is giving them, and gently guide them into accepting the gift of Jesus.
